Motor Ramah Lingkungan Piaggio Hybrid USB



Pabrikan motor asal Italia, Piaggio mengeluarkan konsep USB terbaru mereka di
Milan, Italia.

Eits, jangan salah sangka dulu, USB yang dimaksud disini bukanlah USB flash
drive yang ada pada komputer, melainkan motor konsep terbaru dari Piaggio yang
merupakan kepanjangan dari Urban Sport Bike.

Motor ini sempat diperkenalkan di ajang pameran motor The 67th International Bicycle
and Motorcycle Show (Eicma) di Milan. USB diklaim sebuah motor skutik yang memiliki kenyamanan layaknya ketika mengendarai mobil.

Hebatnya lagi, motor ini ternyata juga tidak mau kalah dengan mobil-mobil konsep yang saat ini banyak keluar dan menyuguhkan teknologi hybrid sebagai penggeraknya.

Sebab Piaggio USB teryata juga diaktifkan oleh dua mesin yakni mesin bensin dua-stroke dengan direct injection ditambah dengan motor listrik yang berguna untuk menggerakan roda belakang.

Seperti detikOto kutip dari motorcycle, Selasa (17/11/2009), USB diklaim dapat menyemburkan torsi hingga 47 lb-ft dan berjalan dengan tenaga listrik sampai sejauh 31 mil pada kecepatan 37 mph atau sekitar 60 km/jam.

Karena itulah Piaggio berani mengatakan bahwa USB adalah sebuah motor menawarkan perjalanan menyenangkan namun tetap ramah pada lingkungan.

Motor Terlaris Bulan Oktober 2009


Honda Absolute Revo Motor Terlaris Oktober 2009
Jakarta - Motor-motor Honda dan Yamaha merajai penjualan motor di tanah air, keduanya pada bulan Oktober lalu menguasai pasar roda dua hingga 93 persen.

Namun apakah motor-motor paling laris di bulan Oktober? Ternyata motor bebek Honda Absolute Revo menjadi motor paling laris di Indonesia selama bulan Oktober lalu.

Sebab di bulan Oktober silam, Absolute Revo terlihat begitu perkasa dengan penjualan mencapai 114.435 unit, jauh meninggalkan para pesaingnya dan menjadi satu-satunya tipe motor yang dapat menembus penjualan hingga 100 ribu unit lebih.

Di posisi kedua baru motor tanpa gigi alias skutik andalan Yamaha, Mio, yang mengintai bersama dengan Vega ZR di posisi ketiga dengan penjualan masing-masing 97.110 unit dan 58.133 unit.

Sementara duo skutik Honda yakni Vario dan BeAT tampak kompak dengan mengantungi penjualan masing-masing sebanyak 50.463 unit dan 49.585 unit serta mengantarkan keduanya di posisi empat dan lima.

Menurut data penjualan wholesales Asosiasi Industri Sepeda Motor Indonesia (AISI) yang detikOto terima, Jumat (13/11/2009), dalam daftar 10 motor terlaris bulan Oktober yang kami susun, kedua pabrikan tersebut nampaknya telah berhasil menyingkirkan lawan mereka.

Namun meski mendominasi posisi lima teratas jajaran motor terlaris bulan Oktober, pasukan Honda ternyata kalah banyak dengan Yamaha di 10 besar motor terlaris.

Sebab bila Honda menyumbangkan 4 produk mereka dalam daftar 10 motor terlaris, Yamaha tampil lebih banyak dengan 6 produknya meskipun dalam total penjualan bulanan maupun tahunan Honda masih memimpin pasar Indonesia.

Mengambil celah itulah, Monstrac sebagai pabrikan asal Korea mencoba menawarkan sensasi sebuah motor sport yang diberi nama Monstrac SBK, namun dengan harga setengah dari Nija 250, yaitu hanya Rp 24 juta On The Road.

"Kita memang menyasar pasar Ninja 250, untuk memberikan alternatif sebuah motor sport yang terjangkau," ujar Sales Marketing Monstrac, Juandi, ketika ditemui detikOto di Jakarta Automotive Fair, di JIEXpo Kemayoran, Jakarta.

Dibekali kapasitas mesin yang sama, yakni 250 cc 4 stroke, oil cooler, hanya saja Monstrac SBK hanya 1 silinder, bukan 2 silinder seperti Ninja 250.

Motor Bertenaga Nuklir, Serem...



Paris - Nuklir ternyata tidak hanya bisa digunakan untuk pembangkit listrik ataupun sebagai senjata. Nuklir ternyata ada manfaatnya untuk kendaraan roda dua.

Seperti dikutip topspeed, Sabtu (28/11/2009), nuklir, di tangan perancang roda dua asal Prancis yakni Romain Herment ternyata dapat dimanfaatkan. Fusi nuklir akan memungkinkan energi nuklir menjadi sumber listrik untuk menggerakan mesin motor.

Romain menyebutnya Motorbike 2050 Version 2 atau sepeda motor 2050 versi 2. Sepeda motor yang diakuinya sangat keren dan begitu banyak detail yang menarik untuk masa datang.

Sepeda motor itu membutuhkan deuterium dan tritium. Kedua unsur-unsur elemen alami itulah yang dibutuhkan oleh mesin temuannya.

Untuk diketahui Romain membuat konsumen konsumsi bahan bakar pada motor temuannya sangat efisien, seefisien 1 liter air per 100 Km. Waw.

Selanjutnya, Romain menyatakan berat mesin motor bertenaga nuklir itu cukup ringan dan hanya 55 kg. Jauh lebih ringan dari sepeda motor kelas bebek yang menjamur di Indonesia.

Bajaj Pulsar 180

PT Bajaj Auto Indonesia (BAI), memproduksi motor sport 4-tak, Bajaj Pulsar DTS-i (Digital Twin Spark-ignition) berkapasitas 180cc menggunakan sistem throttle ignition-control yang bekerja bersamaan dengan sistem capacitor discharge ignition ( CDI ) berteknologi digital yang dikendalikan oleh chip untuk penentuan waktu pengapian yang tepat di dalam segala kondisi. Here we go again. Bajaj does a ‘classic’ again. It all seems that the 2001 era is back. We have seen it, now experience the exhilarating performance biking in the form of carbureted Pulsar 220.With the launch of this bike Bajaj has made it clear that they would not bow down to any better known manufacturers (read Yamahas). A few months back Yamaha did it with a technical supremacy in the name of R15, now Bajaj follows with some ‘never-seen-before-on-Indian-bikes’ performance figures. With this launch Bajaj has showcased their brilliant engineering prowess which can give tremors to any bigger known Japanese makers.
If we date back a few years; November 2001 was the month which probably would go down in the Indian history which marked the entry of ‘affordable performance’ bikes in India with the launch of classic Pulsars.
Performance and technology doesn’t mean anything if they are not affordable. Bajaj has always been proactive in giving tremors to competitors and here comes a bigger one! Enter the new 2009 edition Pulsar 220 DTSi. Bajaj today launched the much hyped and probably the most awaited and an all important launch of this year-The biggest Pulsar from its stables, the Pulsar 220. This bike is much more than just a non-Fuel Injected version of the Pulsar 220 DTS-Fi. Read on for all the changes made to this bike which take it to a different league altogether.
Changes In The New Model:

  1. Carbureted: In a lovely attempt to provide performance to masses (by reducing costs) yet keeping mandatory things in mind, Bajaj has dispensed off with the Fuel Injector of Pulsar 220 DTS-Fi. Now the bike comes loaded with Indias biggest 32mm Ucal UCD 32 venturi carburetor in place of the Delphi-supplied throttle body type fuel injection system in the Pulsar 220 DTS-Fi.
  2. Power Output: The power output of the bike has risen from 20 Ps (@8500 rpm) of the DTS-Fi to a whooping 21.04 PS at the same rpm figures, a full horsepower more than the fuel injected mill in turn breaking the 20 bhp jinx which we were stuck to for quite a long time. Torque figures remain the same at 19.12 Nm but the carbureted Pulsar does it in 7000 rpm which is 500 rpms more than the fuel injected version. This also ensures the revvy nature of the engine with abundant torque available all through the curve.
  3. New Piston: Keeping the cylinder dimensions same at 67 * 62.4 mm, the piston now comes in a new screen printed graphite based Malycote material which helps in reducing friction between the piston and the cylinder walls and also improves upon the engine’s anti-seizure traits.
  4. Oval Pent Roof Combustion Chamber: The bike also gets an oval shaped roof combustion chamber which enables to maximize the charge density of the flame propagation path which ensures maximum combustion even with leaner air-fuel ratios.
  5. Larger Air Cooler: The engine remains air-cooled as in DTS-Fi but needs to maintain a steady cool temperature now gets a larger air-cooler on this bike with 33 percent more cooling area which ensures that the bike runs cool even under high temperatures.
  6. All New Ignition System: The bike also incorporates an all new ignition system with engine temperature sensors built into the cylinder head to aid a rider in a perfect ride without any loss of torque or any flat spots.
  7. All New Auto Choke: With this version Bajaj has to ensure that the user doesn’t suffer from cold starting problems with the bike, now a carbureted version. To counter this possible issue, this bike comes loaded with an auto-choke which enables the bike to start in coldest of environments with ease.
  8. All New Clutch Assembly: The biggest issue with the earlier iterations of the Pulsar series was the lack of clutch responsiveness and the lack of feel from the clutch under slightest of loads. Seems like Bajaj has paid a special attention on this front and the bike sports an all completely enclosed clutch supplied by FCC Riko. The bike has a reported slick and much better feel than the earlier iterations which makes the bike even better to ride.
  9. All New Gearbox Internals: Adding to the new clutch system, Bajaj has ensured that all the known issues are rectified. This gearbox, which is one of the biggest problems for Bajaj, has been overhauled with some major component changes. The bike is reported to slickest Pulsar till date.
  10. All-Black Theme: The bike gets an all-black theme with black alloys, engine, swingarm and forks from other iterations of the same stable and makes the bike look a killer.
  11. Soft Compound Tyres: The bike comes loaded with the R15 reminiscent soft compound tubeless tyres which make the bike a dream to handle while on corners and also makes sure the bike is planted under extreme or harsh braking. The tyres remain the same size with the front being 90/90 * 17 and rear being a meaty 120/80 * 17 which also aids to the overall killer looks of the bike.
  12. New Designed Logo: The bike also gets a metallic protruded Pulsar logo reminiscent to the new Pulsar 180 2009 edition. It also gets a revamped clip-on handle bar along with a redesigned console background.
  13. Catalytic Converter: The bike, now, with the exclusion of Fuel injector, incorporates a catalytic converter to absorb the harmful gases from the exhaust and in turn making sure that the bike meets the soon to be enforced Bharat Stage 4 Pollution Norms.
Performance:
Here we are talking about the most talked about feature of the bike, its performance. Bajaj calls this bike ‘The Fastest India’ and the bike’s traits lead us to believe every bit of it. Zero to sixty dash comes in lesser than 4 seconds! It is a huge more than half a second faster than its fuel injected sibling. Zero to hundred is achieved in around 11.5 seconds and this is a whooping two seconds faster to the DTS-Fi. Add to this the true top speed of the bike is reported at close to 140 kmph with the Speedo reading in excess of 145kmph. Now that’s fast by any standards and furious in Indian standards.
The bike lives upto its claim of being the fastest bike in the country and with a great margin, the brilliant tech-laden R15 included! Roll on times reported for DTSi are a tad slower than DTS-Fi, thanks to the latter’s more emphasis on low and mid range torque but flip the throttle and here you go astride the fastest Indian bike in production today in the country on the DTSi. With some scorching figures like this, not much is expected out of the mileage figures of this bike, but wait……! There is more to it than what seems evident. Expect the bike to return a handsome mileage of something in the range of 35-40 kmpl on real road conditons and this by any means are great figures. The engine roar has also been made gruntier and the self starter note also has a sweet muscular note to start with.
Along with all the above listings the bike gets all the typical pulsar goodies like the Exhaustec, lovely power and torque at all rpms, cheaper spare parts, projector headlamps, a 12W 9Ah maintenance free battery, dual horns, Wolf-eyed front semi fairing, rear Nitrox shock absorbers which do their job with near perfection.
With this bike, Bajaj has again produced a winner, more so with keeping the bike in direct competition to a newly-born Apache RTR 180, Yamaha YZF R15, Yamaha FZ series, Hero Honda Karizma. For sure, all the mentioned bikes will face the heat with the aggressive launch of this bike. This bike is set sure for turning the fortunes of Bajaj. Great move Bajaj! Let’s see how this bike fares in the market. If you are looking at a screaming performer at an affordable price, than there is no bike in the market which could match the practicality and “Value for Money –ness” of this bike. Go get this bike and burn the roads!

Bajaj Pulsar 200 DTSi was introduced in the market around 9 months back and it enthralled the Bajaj dealers by raking sales as well as the Indian bike enthusiasts. The bike has a 200cc engine and oil cooler, which is a self-adjustable one- it adjusts the viscosity of the lubricant oil so the overall performance of the bike is enhanced. The shock absorbing quality is enhanced by a large 33mm front fork.

Pulsar 200 bike has other wooing features such as a stylish petrol tank flap along with an anti-scratch tank pad, ExausTEC technology in the silencer that maintains engine torque, comparatively light weight of the bike, the split seat with better seating space and excellent performance.
Looks: Bajaj Pulsar 200 DTSi is available in eye candy black, red and blue colors and looks deceive you like you got an international sports bike in front of you! The bike has aerodynamically designed petrol tank with tank flaps and beefy front. The bike has great indicator features such as choked air filter indicator, high oil temperature indicator, a low battery voltage indicator and a low engine level indicator. A big long list right?

sporty looks coupled with greater chassis rear inclination gives this variant of Bajaj Pulsar DTSi second glances be it in a parking lot or on roads! The bike has usual LED tail and brake lights and the main headlamps and parking lamps emit white light with blue-tinged bulbs instead of the yellow light of incandescent bulbs. These are certainly an improved stuff and more friendly to eyes!

Performance: Bajaj Pulsar 200 has a split seat architecture that provides better style and comfort for both rider and pilion. The bike has 200cc powerful engine and the telescopic fork provides better control. The display panel can detect failure in components. Both front and rear wheels have tubeless tyres that are first in the motorcycle market and the wheelbase is 1350mm. The triple rate spring NitroX shockers provide cushion feel and telescopic fork suspension.

The torque of the bike has been improved by ExhausTEC technology and the bike also has an improved clutch system. The gear can be changed easily and it is capable of taking more loads. The presence of oil cooler enhances the engine performance.

The engine has a maximum power of 18ps and you will get an average of 40 km per liter of petrol. The fuel tank has a capacity of 15 liters and has a capacity to store 2 liters of reserve petrol. The oil cooler improves the performance of the engine at high speeds without overheating. Bajaj two wheelers, especially the battery, need low maintenance. Under test condition the fuel efficiency is 50kms/ltr.
Final Verdict: The 18ps pulsating power generated by the 200cc engine provides great riding excitement to bikers, echo all of the Bajaj dealers . It is the first bike in India with tubeless tyres both in front and rear in this segment. The tubeless tyres offer superior stability that is safer than the conventional tube tyres while adding to fuel economy. Better road grip and stability is ensured by the very broad rear tyre. The bike has new digital console with Digital Odometer, Digital Speedo meter, Digital Fuel Gauge and two Digital Trio Meters. This Bajaj bike is the first one with electric start. And needless to say it is very convenient for a city rider. After all, we know the traffic jams right?

Ask me downside of this bike… Well, it doesn’t have a kick-start facility. So when the battery is down (keep looking at the indicator off and on my friend!) or fused out, God save you or you got to push it to a recharge facility!
